Maui Dinner Dates
Dinner dates. Being in the same timezone now affords Gabe and me this beautiful luxury.
This was a banger: dinner DOUBLE date with dish after dish after dish from Mill House and a show at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center featuring MS. LAURYN HILL.
We joined the Riehls & Aaron in attempting to order half the menu at the gorgeous Mill House restaurant in Wailuku. Because their team is using local produce, the menu here is constantly evolving (invoking both happiness and heartbreak in our hearts). This time around we indulged ourselves in:
To Start
Garden Beignets - wilted greens, parmesan, garlic aioli **
Chicken Bao Buns - kimchi, korean spiced aioli **
Mortadella Musubis - rice, nori, bonito aioli, namasu pickle
Mains
Gnocchi - zucchini, mushroom, parmesan, fried quinoa, chili butter
Pappardelle - beef, tomato, spicy sausage, garlic crumble
Ribeye - creamed kale, aliʻi mushroom, tomato, yukon potato, chimichurri
To Finish
Banana Beignet - banana cream, cinnamon, sugar, goat's milk caramel **
Chocolate Special - no description online / chocolate crust with a perfectly sweet all chocolate filling, served with a beet sauce on the side
** indicate we couldn't stop at one order & had to indulge in a second serving
We miraculously managed to move our bodies to the MACC where Ms. Lauryn Hill proceeded to BLOW US AWAY. Spiritual experience. Dressed in black from toe to the tippity of her head, her aura was a force & her performance moved all of us. While I didn't take any hi-res photos at the show (any additional weight to carry around would've been detrimental to my well-being), here is a fuzzy to hold you over.
